Chechnya's Bizzare Ban on Musical Tempo
Chechnya's Cultural Minister just banned all music outside of 80-116BPM...why?
well....
This is probably just a clever way to make sure that Lezginka is legal (which is crazy fast, but whose half time tempo fits within this window) but foreign music like House and Techno does not.

Drummer brought memes to the NYC jazz fusion gig...
song made in 117 bpm (stretches audio to be 116 bpm) :)
“I'm just saying that we should probably draw a line between 'I don't like it' and 'it should not exist.' There has to be a compromise inbetween those.” - Brad Williams, comedian in his latest special
what the name of this song?
Banning foreign music? Nice.
Tab has a niche, yet massively important roll for bass and guitar and that's learning the different "shapes" of songs. So many pop songs have this same loop of chords where you have some note as the root, a whole step up, a 4th up, and a 5th up. That box pattern and slight variations are so easy to see on tab, but wouldnt be very apparent on sheet music. Other shapes or scales are pretty easy to identify with tab so it's also a good tool for composition in any genre that isnt classical or jazz
I learnt that certain beats are used to ensight revolts, something about revolutionary music having a certain tempos, there are other ideas that certain emotions have different frequencies... like healing crystals vibrations - different crystals emit different vibes, if you don't believe it, think of the black body problem, and how this effects the colour on an object and how we relate colours to emotions
DNB?
Damn the underground music parties will be wild!
Not surprising at all coming from a violently bigoted culture whose president looks like he willingly wears diapers.
5:58 I'm comfortable amending 'Platonic' to 'fascist'
if it is above 117, make it halftime or set quarter notes as triplets
2:19 - I'm getting *Borat* vibes! Anyone else? 😂 _Jagshemash!_
This is going to trigger some new dance music genre
I miss your UA-cam Channel :(
Why?
there used to be a rule in america that said you werent allowed to have more than 20% syncopated rhythms and also no swing because it was to similar to black jazz and thats a funny fact i think
Okay but why? Why ban any music what’s there reason good or bad I just want to know please I’m dying
Surely that government, too, will go and assemble a jury of grumpy people for this task.
Bro frl, ban everything from america 😂
Attach the word "industry" to anything apart from creating actual, physical products like chairs or cars, and it destroys the very thing it is trying to sell.
I am 69 and was privileged to see Ella Fitzgerald, Dave Brubeck, Oscar Peterson, Jacques Loussier and other genius jazz musicians live on stage. And I am very fond of Laufey and her music (not each and every song, but many). She might be well able to not only keep jazz alive, but also transport it to Gen Z.
Just an opinion, but re the bridge comparison between Ribeiro and Gilberto, I always felt that deletion of the middle chord ala Gilberto causing a slightly more jarring and less-prepared harmonic sequence reflects much better the subject matter of the song, in particular the pain expressed in the lyrics of the bridge. What the writer expresses there is painful, despairing perhaps, heartache of some sort maybe and having a nicely setup and prepared and familiar harmonic sequence just doesn't reflect the lyrics, in my opinion anyway.
Aaah good ole shitty dictatorship decrees.
I mean it is obviously to try and ban gayness.
Get the dnb and gabbers over there😂😂
Okay but it's here now, and it's been achieved by scraping the copyrighted work of thousands of musicians. Library, stock, and sync placements are as good as gone. As much as it's fun to keep doing it, the livelihoods of working composers are being wiped out.
I mean the music industry in general is ruled over by evil people… idk 🤷🏻♂️
Chechnya trying to become leaders in EDM through triggering spite
Alright, we officially entered the dark ages again.
Such a great video, thank you so much! 🙌🏼
Bro got mad they called laufey jazz 😭😭😭
if you want to ban foreign dance music just say that at least we understand your fucking motive
They forgot about one thing techno music some techno artist whatever small like unicorn on kid means can you reach out to 200 I’m not even messing with you if you go into it it is even sound like it’s just some noise
I am Bulgarian and we don't have Lezginka, but any time I hear it, I feel like my whole being dances with it.
More like Chechnyan Footloose.
halftime drum and bass is safe 😂
So in other words. Instead of just outright banning all Foreign Music. They put in these list of numbers and expect everyone to understand them. Yeah. I highly doubt anyone even knows that their native music is at X Beats Per Minute. They just like it. So, this idea of banning music from outside the country. All for a sense of "Native Pride". Well, seems like a waste of resources to me. In turn, who is going to enforce it? As it seems rather hard to enforce. Cause for all we know. Police will just break up any party that is playing ANY kind of music. Doesn't matter. After all, you expect Politicians to spend money to train officers? *Breaks out laughing* Good one.
I am Brazilian and the first time i ever heard this song was in the movie "Rio", is very sad what happened to Brazilian music nowadays... music in general is becoming simpler and all the same awful gray
Beauty is found in the subtle imperfections, which is bolstered by the number of women Frank and Robert bedded compared to Melodyne.
Adam I’m hearing an awful lot of yapping
What song? Where I can find the video?
based chenya
Thankfully, the Music Police aren't very sneaky. You can hear them coming from blocks away, like a parade.
That's artistic incest. There are numerous other things they could try to boost and retain their heritage, and many of them could be less expensive to enforce.
Isn't bowie singing in octaves, though?
Another thing is that the E and Eb are a false relation in tertian harmony which is the basis of western music. The E and Eb are entirely permissible in Quartal or Quintal harmony because of what it is built off of. This particular case is singing fifths in quartal harmony because of the inversion. Quartal harmony is an entirely different sound world. The tertian false relations are treated with taste. This is in line with the compositional style of Leighton. When a descant is added different rules are used. There are methods which create a pleasing result. In this case it is nothing more than a plethora of quartal harmony played over tertian. The end result is full of error and poor judgment.
3:50 a fourth is NOT a consonance. There are 4 consonances that being the perfect octave, the perfect fifth, the imperfect third, and the imperfect sixth. The perfect consonances are in their own way complete but not interesting, they are stable. The imperfect consonances are not stable, but interesting. The fourth is neither, and the second and seventh are harmonic clashes. They are interesting, but of an unstable character. The fourth must always be treated as a dissonance and subsequently prepared for 6/4 harmonies. Note: all of this is from the contrapuntal rules.
"Borrowed" from Rachmaninoff, yes. Eric Carmen was sued by the Rachmaninoff's estate for copyright infringement. Who knew? I as well thought that the music was in the public domain. I love the both!
Ireal pro shirt is crazy
Very musically-informative🙂. The how-come, of mashups that work, while others suffer, tradgically😞.
